Starting in Guitar Hero World Tour until Guitar Hero: Van Halen, the drummer is replaced by randomly generated characters from the rockstar creator, while in Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero, the main characters serve as his replacement. The Lips microphones do not work with Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Band, Rock Band 2 or Rock Band: AC/DC Live. No, they are actually pretty different looking, and I hear that they fixed some of the issues with the World Tour set, but I'm hoping someone has hands on experience with the two. Not that I NEED 6 more pads, but it's nice to have and I can use it with Reaper/Samplomatic 5000 to trigger actual samples outside of AD2 should I so choose.

While the Rock Band drum set is far cheaper than the Rock Band 2 one, it's not quite as durable as the Rock Band 2 set. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, given some basic instructions and went through a quick warm-up. I loaded up Sennheiser's DrumMic'a and suddenly this toy-looking little thing sounds like a real drum kit. I mounted another bit of foamcoare to the apex of the spring, added a spot of tape to prevent shorts across the spring, and mounted the assembly below the piezo element.

Star Power is gained the same as the guitars, by hitting all the star power notes in a star power sequence. In Guitar Hero 5 and later games if a swell is dropped it can be played again by re-hitting the corresponding drum(s).

If you are looking for a good drum-kit for the 360 then grab this one, just be prepared to spend a bit of time getting used to how to hit them for Rock Band. There is a thread running alongside this one posted by someone who is trying to figure out hi hat control on one of these kits. They're great fun, but it sounds like you're looking for a way to get around the cost of serious drum MIDI controllers, and I don't think you're going to do that without giving up quite a bit. Hope this helps - can't say I'm any kind of expert as my best beats are programmed but as I can't justify spending cash on a proper midi kit this does me fine and is fun and responsive. If 5-lane O G notes were to be played at the same time in 4-lane Drums, they would be played on blue and green pads instead.Percussionists are picky—even the ones playing on a plastic set in their living rooms in sync to "notes" displayed on their TVs. It was made to be sold separately, but the company making the ion kits liked them so much, they decided to include them with their kid. Hitting the kick drum swell is just like the normal swells; keep the swell going by repeatedly hitting the corresponding drum. Decide what you want performance-wise, test to find out how far from that you are, and let's dive in. The result of this pseudo-one-piece design is an incredibly top-heavy kit, which unfortunately is paired with an inordinately unstable stand.

The Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 1/2 microphones will not work with any version of SingStar PS3.This may sound a bit silly, but hitting them in the same way that makes them work in World Tour does not mean they will work in Rock Band, which is a real shame as I have to hold the sticks differently and have to position myself a bit lower to make the game register hits - a bit annoying, but manageable. With both of the major music game franchises taking two distinctly different approaches to the drum kit controller and both being supported interchangeably, it's important to kit that suits you best.
